Unique forms - Make time to learn something on the sundial
Located in Peacehaven, the skatepark is seen as one of the best on the south coast of the UK. CANVAS worked very closely with the local steering group in order to get a skatepark design that met the needs of their clear vision: To be inclusive for all, whilst maintaining interest from all for many years to come.
The inclusion of a combi-style bowl, unique elements and traditional, well-proportioned forms, with input from the local community throughout, has ensured this project’s great success.
Completed in 2015, with over 600m2 of float-finish concrete, varied materials and an amazing bowl, Peacehaven Skatepark sees many visitors and hosts the very popular annual Jam organised by the local community.
CANVAS’ approach to developing the design with the local community and having the experience and ability to complete the project to the community’s expectations is one of many reasons that CANVAS were commissioned for this project, held so close the steering group’s hearts.  Today the skatepark is enjoyed by the same group and many new skaters and riders from near and afar, evidencing the skatepark’s legacy.
