BIG Bowl! With the widest midi we’ve seen
Royal Victoria Park’s beloved half-pipe and skatepark dated back many years, having seen the likes of the Bones Brigade visit on tour and was the local skatepark for many of today’s pro’s, growing up.
CANVAS were selected for the design and construction of Royal Victoria Park’s new skatepark for our keenness to work with the local steering group in the development of the design and our inspirational proposals for the new skatepark which, through detailed engineering, allowed the proposed design to include an extensive bowl despite unfavourable ground conditions.
The proposal’s successful planning decision was ensured by our sympathetic design for the conservation area.
The skatepark and bowl have been finished to CANVAS’ specification of a matte finish: Not slippery and not shiny which has proved very popular and sought after.
The skatepark is spacious and has many features, both traditional and unique. Rarely seen, long ledges; granite kerbs and flatland compliment one of the UK’s best vert-bowls.
