Ruddington skatepark

A large plaza-style skatepark in Nottinghamshire’s Rushcliffe Country Park

Rushcliffe Country Park is set in the beautiful South Nottinghamshire countryside. It has conservation woodlands, grasslands, wildflower meadows and varied active areas, connected by a large footpath network.”

The new skatepark was required to aesthetically compliment the surrounding country park whilst incorporating a layout that would meet the needs of the local community. These criteria were achieved through collaboration and consultation with local user groups, led by Skate Nottingham.

The skatepark design consists of traditional plaza-style elements such as a granite ledge, a stair set, and a hubba. Alongside these are more unique elements, including a raised half-dish, a long double-sided curb, and a 2 ft high and 7 m wide quarter – perfect for learning new transition tricks!

The project took approximately 4 months to complete the construction phase.

The layout includes a mixture of elements, with a concentration on features not necessarily found in traditional skateparks, such as the down-curb, gaps and steep, hipped flat banks.
